The problem: JPG does not have transparency
A PNG can contain transparent pixels. JPEG does not have an alpha channel to store that transparency. Therefore, before exporting to JPG you must decide what color will occupy those areas.
The most common solution: white background
For product photos, documents, signatures, and many images intended for forms, white is usually a safe choice. The Luna4 conversion tool allows you to activate that background before generating the JPG.

- Upload PNG.
- Choose JPG.
- Activates “White background when exporting JPG”.
- Adjust the quality.
- Process and check edges before downloading.
When not to convert
If you need to preserve transparency, do not use JPG. Keep PNG or consider WebP if your destination supports it.
Quality and weight
JPG can greatly reduce the size of a photo, but too low a quality level can create artifacts. Start high and reduce only if you need to save more.
