Check the service limit

Email providers set limits for the entire message, not just each photo. Leave room for text, other attachments, and the increase in size that email encoding may cause.

Decide whether to send photos or a link

If you need to deliver high-resolution originals, it may be best to share a folder in the cloud. Batch compression is ideal when the priority is for images to look good on the screen and arrive in the mail.

Use a moderate common quality

For normal photographs, a balanced quality usually reduces the weight quite a bit. Avoid going too low if there is small text, photographed documents, or details that the recipient needs to enlarge.

Check the final total weight

Don't just focus on saving a photo. Add up all the results and leave a reasonable margin below the message limit.

Group the results if appropriate

A ZIP allows you to attach a single file and retain the names. The recipient will have to remove it, so for a few photos it may be easier to attach them directly.
